Bully Be Gone
As we can all see violence in the youth society is constantly increasing. It is sad to have to sit back and watch children at such a young age make wrong decisions that will affect their adult lives and the way society treats and views them.
As a society we are constantly trying to think of ways to educate our children by allowing them to realize the following the wrong crowd to be considered cool or accepted by peers is not the right way to carry themselves. Involving them in after school programs or having family discussions will help, but what do we do when our child is being bullied? The obvious options would be to teach them to become vocal and not keep this a secret. We may take it one step further and go to school and tell the teacher or principal about the situation. However we are all not that fortunate to just tell someone and have the problem disappear.
In today’s society those that are a victim of being bullied usually have to go through that for the entire childhood days or become very withdrawn and tent to shy away from others. I as a parent know that it is very devastating to know that you are not able to help your child be accepted for who they are without making the wrong decisions to please others.
What can we do to solve this problem? It is actually quite simple, teach our children to be comfortable and confident with themselves. Building confidence does not mean picking on the weak to make yourself better. It mean being able to know they can defend themselves IF needed, help other friends who are weak to overcome peer pressure and most importantly not walking with their head down.
I have designed a program that will assist our children with building confidence and accepting who they are. Our program changing the way our kids see themselves though fitness and martial training with these simple step in mind.
Program definition:
- Focus/Concentration- your child will learn how to focus all of their attention to the task at hand while committing themselves to learning and growing.
- Perseverance/Teamwork- your child will learn how to face challenges presented to them, knowing that the challenges will be difficult to complete. They will learn how to face challenges alone and with peers.
- Courage/ Balance- your child will learn how to overcome fear and nervousness through training that initially seems intimidating.
- Discipline/Intensity- your child will learn how to perform their martial arts skills with strong effort and attitude.
- Coordination/Speed- your child will learn the components of speed and how to control their balance, body posture, and technique.
- Fitness/Agility- your child will learn the mechanics that govern movement and how it plays a role when they are jumping, dodging, and moving about quickly.
- Control/Technique- your child will learn the fundamental components of good technique, which will make them great athletes.
- Memory- your child will enhance their memory through fun and educational drills. Back to top
